Terms of Use for Renters – Vildr.no
1. Introduction
These terms ("Terms") govern the relationship between you as a user ("renter") and Vildr AS ("Vildr", "we", "us") when you use our digital marketplace for hunting, fishing and outdoor experiences.
By creating an account, making a booking or otherwise using the service, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms.
2. Parties
The service is operated by:
Vildr AS, Reg. no. 835 285 162
Golia 7, 1390 Vollen, Norge
Email: kontakt@vildr.no
The agreement to rent a hunting, fishing or cabin stay is entered into between you as the renter and the relevant landowner/provider.
Vildr AS acts only as an intermediary and payment recipient on behalf of the landowner, and is not itself a party to the rental relationship.
3. Registration and account
- To book through Vildr you must create an account and provide accurate and complete information.
- You are responsible for keeping your login information confidential and for all activity that takes place via your account.
- Vildr may suspend or close accounts in case of breach of these terms or misuse of the service.
4. Scope of the service
Vildr.no offers a digital marketplace where landowners and providers can list:
- hunting and fishing areas,
- cabins and accommodation,
- guided experiences and related services.
Renters can search, book and pay directly via the platform.
Vildr facilitates communication and settlement, but has no control over or responsibility for the quality, safety, availability or execution of the activities.
5. Payment
- All payments are handled via Vildr, which receives payment from the renter and forwards settlement to the landowner after deduction of commission.
- Payment is charged in full at the time of booking, or in accordance with the terms shown at checkout.
- The currency and price displayed at booking are binding.
- Vildr may add fees for card payments or other payment methods if this is shown before the purchase is confirmed.
6. Cancellation and refunds
- Cancellation terms are set by each individual landowner and are clearly shown in each offering.
- Cancellation categories may include flexible, moderate, strict or no refund.
- When you make a booking you automatically accept the cancellation rules that apply to the relevant offering.
- Refunds are processed via Vildr and follow the rules that apply to the selected category.
- All refunded cancellations are subject to a non-refundable fee of 5% of the amount paid to cover payment processing costs. This fee applies only to charged payments, not to reservations that have not been charged.
- Cancellation must be submitted in writing via the Vildr portal or by email, and is considered received once Vildr has confirmed it.
7. Communication and booking outside the platform
To ensure safety for both renter and landowner, all communication, negotiation and booking that arises through Vildr.no must be handled via the platform.
If you as a renter contact a landowner through Vildr, or wish to renew or extend a previous stay, the booking must be completed via Vildr.no.
It is not permitted to enter into or attempt to enter into direct agreements with the landowner outside the platform after the first contact has taken place via Vildr.
If such an agreement is entered into directly, Vildr may claim compensation equivalent to the lost commission fee, and the user may lose access to the service.
8. Renter's responsibilities
As a renter you undertake to:
- treat the property, equipment, boat, cabin and inventory with due care,
- comply with laws and regulations for hunting, fishing, firearm use, safety and outdoor recreation,
- leave the site tidied and cleaned upon departure,
- immediately notify the landowner of any damage, defects or deficiencies,
- compensate for damage caused by you, your guests or persons you have granted access to the area.
The landowner may require a deposit on arrival, which is refunded after the property is returned and checked.
The renter is responsible for obtaining the necessary permits (e.g. hunting licence, fishing licence, boating certificate).
9. Check-in and check-out
- Check-in and check-out times are stated in the offering.
- In case of delayed arrival, the renter must notify the landowner as soon as possible.
- No-show without notice may be treated as a cancellation without the right to a refund.
10. Defects and complaints
- Any defects or deficiencies must be reported to the landowner immediately, and no later than 48 hours after arrival or discovery.
- If the matter cannot be resolved locally, a written complaint must be sent to Vildr within 30 days after the stay has ended.
- Vildr or the landowner must be given a reasonable opportunity to remedy any defects.
- Compensation may only be granted for direct financial loss, and not for indirect loss, consequential damage or circumstances outside Vildr's control.
11. Limitation of liability
Vildr is not responsible for:
- default by the landowner,
- errors in listings or descriptions provided by the landowner,
- loss caused by weather, damage, accidents, delays, illness or natural conditions,
- theft, loss of belongings or personal injury during the stay.
If the stay cannot take place due to force majeure (e.g. extreme weather, natural events, epidemics, government orders), the amount paid will be refunded as far as possible, but without liability for any further compensation.
12. Privacy
Vildr processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation (GDPR).
Personal data is only used for purposes related to booking, payment, customer service and statutory record-keeping.
See our privacy policy for more information.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
- These terms are governed by Norwegian law.
- Any disputes shall first be sought resolved through dialogue.
- If no agreement can be reached, the matter shall be brought before the ordinary courts, with Oslo District Court as the legal venue.
