Søndre Kvisten is a combined forest bird and grouse terrain, consisting primarily of forest and some treeless mountains. Here you get:
- 13,000 decares all to yourselves
- Choose for yourself how many days you want to hunt
- Add accommodation and put together your own hunting package
The small game hunting area Søndre Kvisten is located just west of Salsbruket in Nærøysund municipality, and is one of many hunting areas on the property of Firma Albert Collett.
A terrain of approximately 13,000 decares that starts at the water's edge, where the highest parts are over 300 meters above sea level.
Access to the terrain is best from the south via a forest road. The gate here is normally closed. When purchasing accommodation in addition to a permit, we will keep the gate open for you.
You have exclusive access to the terrain! Once you have booked a small game permit for this terrain, regardless of how many permits you buy, it will not be possible for other hunters to buy small game permits for the same terrain in the same period. However, big game hunting may occur simultaneously in the period September 25th - December 23rd, but the periods where big game hunting is currently planned are blocked for the purchase of small game permits. In addition, wolverine hunting may occur in the far south of the terrain (Langmarka).
Bag limit of 1 forest bird and 3 grouse per hunter per day.
About the terrain
UtmarksCompagniet is a continuation of the long-standing experience in facilitating hunting, fishing, and nature experiences from the former Bangdalsbruget – Firma Albert Collett. The first foreign hunters and fishers were hosted as early as the 1880s.
UtmarksCompagniet offers various products within hunting, fishing, and outdoor life – and does everything to ensure that you get a wonderful holiday memory to take home to your everyday life.
For more than 100 years, Salen has been known for exciting moose hunting in Trøndelag. Some of the very largest hunting trophies from moose hunting in Norway originate from this specific area.
In parts of the area, there is also a good population of roe deer that can offer exciting stalking or slow-driving scent hounds. For interested hunters, various levels of facilitation are offered – everything from self-service to full facilitation including guiding as well as high-standard dining and accommodation.
We also offer small game hunting in our areas. Hunting for grouse, forest birds, hare, and roe deer. This is distributed across 27 different hunting terrains in Salen, located in Trøndelag.

Hjorten has several spacious apartments. Apartment No. 4 has 3 bedrooms, one of which has two beds. A kitchen with all the necessities and a spacious living room with a dining table and sofa set.
Hjorten has served several functions over time and is therefore often referred to as "Posten" (The Post) or "Kontoret" (The Office). This is where the officials sat with a view of the wood pulp mill that was once located there.

Elgåa Apartment No. 2 is the smallest of three apartments.
Elgåa Apartment
With Salsbruket as your destination, there are many opportunities for nature-based experiences. The Opløfjord features a beautiful archipelago, so a trip on the fjord is highly recommended to enjoy both boating and fishing. The Opløelva river is exciting for those who want to try their luck at salmon fishing, and in the areas surrounding Salsbruket, there are many opportunities for active nature lovers, including inland fishing and hiking.
Elgåa Apartment is located just 40 meters from the Opløfjord, offering a great view over the fjord to the west, right by the mouth of the Elgåa river at the foot of Hagafjellet. The building contains two fairly large apartments and one smaller apartment. The smallest is approximately 50 sqm, while the two large ones are about 100 sqm. The apartments are well-equipped with a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. The bedrooms have two box spring mattresses that function as a double bed or two separate beds, equipped with duvets and pillows. Bed linen and towels are included. There is road access all the way to the apartments, where the car can be parked right outside the house.
Salsbruket is a village in outer Namdal, in the northern part of Trøndelag. The village is situated by the Opløfjord, which is part of the Follafjord and is about 10 km long. The fjord is ideal for sea fishing. Here you can catch cod, saithe, mackerel, monkfish, crab, and more. Additionally, you can fish in the Opløelva river, where salmon weighing up to 15 kg are caught.
Inland fishing in surrounding mountain lakes on Firma Albert Collett's property is included in the price and offers a wide variety of nature experiences.
Several hiking routes are available in the area, including both short and longer trips that pass over ridges with great views of the landscape surrounding the Opløyfjord, Follafjord, and Salsbruket.

Use of bird dog
In addition to purchasing a hunting permit, the hunter must pay to use a bird dog. The price applies per dog per day. For example, if you hunt with two dogs for 3 days, you must enter a quantity of 6.
Roe deer permit - add-on to small game permit
Add-onThe roe deer permit is only valid in combination with one or more small game permits. The roe deer permit applies to the same period as the small game permit. The permit grants permission to harvest one optional roe deer for the entire group, where all participating hunters must have purchased small game permits for the same terrain and period. The use of driving dogs is not permitted without special permission - please contact us at post@utmarkscompagniet.no.
From August 10th through September 24th, it is buck hunting season. From September 25th to December 23rd, it is the ordinary roe deer hunting season.

Tracking dog agreement via Firma Albert Collett/Utmarkscompagniet
Add-onThe company Albert Collett/Utmarkscompagniet has an agreement with a tracking dog ring that covers all big game hunting on our terrain. Hunters/teams utilizing this agreement will, in the event of a search, be required to pay a call-out fee, mileage allowance, and an hourly rate for as long as the search continues to the tracking ring.
