Season:9. sep. 2026 - 13. sep. 2026
Rennsjølia Nature Reserve

Description

Stay in scenic surroundings with black grouse and capercaillie hunting and fishing for trout and Arctic char in September. The terrain is highly varied with lowlands, high mountains, valleys, and marshes. Opportunity for fishing for trout and Arctic char.

There has been no bird hunting here for a long time, so there are good populations of both capercaillie and black grouse. Grouse is protected on the property.

Dog allowed.

Hunting season forest bird: September 10th - December 23rd.

About the terrain

Location: Heim

The terrain covers approximately 6,000 decares, located on the border between Aure and Heim municipalities. 4,000 of these are protected as a nature reserve. It is a demanding but beautiful terrain - for those who wish to hunt in untouched nature, are physically fit, and enjoy challenges. Fishing opportunities are available.

Accommodation is provided in an off-grid mountain farm cottage within the terrain itself (6 beds) or at a small farm with all facilities approximately 10 km away (9 beds).

Gammelsetra

Two log cabins are located side-by-side in the heart of the terrain, approximately 200 meters from the water. In 2021, in collaboration with the Norwegian Environment Agency, we removed a Sitka spruce forest that stood between the mountain farm and the water. The cleared area is now becoming green and attractive for deer.

One of the buildings replaces (and is a faithful replica of) an older log building from the 1800s. Husasnotra (Nordmøre Museum) crafted and erected the cabin using local timber. Here, you live surrounded by magnificent log walls, featuring a wood-burning stove, dining table, and two comfortable beds. There is a shared outhouse and outdoor kitchen with the other cabin, a 1950s cabin with 4 sleeping spots distributed across two bunk beds. Simple standard without electricity or running water, but in fantastic surroundings.
