Description
Due to a cancellation, we have a vacant week at fantastic Urdevatn on Hardangervidda, featuring a legendary location at 1300 meters and great fishing. This is a cabin for fit hikers, as the cabin is a 4-hour walk from the taxi boat. Alternatively, helicopter transport can be arranged.
The price includes the cabin, rod fishing in several lakes, net fishing, parking, and a round-trip taxi boat across Møsvatn.
The trail to Urdevatn is marked with cairns and goes through gently undulating terrain. The cabin is also well-situated for hikes in the area, and there are other fishing lakes nearby suitable for trout fishing.
Hiking enthusiasts, fishing enthusiasts, or those who simply wish to experience the nature and tranquility of the mountains will thrive during a vacation week or two at Urdevatn.

About the terrain
The mountain farm Argehovd is beautifully situated at the outlet of the river Kvenna, in Vinje municipality in Telemark. The property is located without road access at the northwestern end of Møsvatn. The farm itself is situated at 970 meters above sea level, while the surrounding mountain terrain extends from 1,100 - 1,350 meters above sea level across the Hardangervidda plateau. Reindeer, grouse, and moose are hunted here. The river Kvenna flows past the farm and into Møsvatn, and 10 km of the river belongs to the property. Fishing licenses are sold from July 1st until August 31st each year. After this, we keep the river open until September 10th for private groups, as fishing for large trout is a highly sought-after activity.

Urdevatn Cabin
Urdevatn is located 1300 meters above sea level west of Kvenna, about a 4-hour walk from Argehovd farm and into the mountains. The trail in is marked with cairns and goes through gently undulating terrain.
The cabin is 45 sqm, has 6 beds with 2 beds in 1 bedroom, and 4 beds in the living room. It has an open-plan layout between the living room and kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and has propane with a gas oven for cooking. The cabin has a wood stove, an outdoor toilet, and a wood shed.
A boat is located by the water, and at the cabin, you will find nets that you can use during your stay.
Urdevatn is well-situated for hikes in the area and other fishing lakes nearby. The stay is suitable for hiking enthusiasts, fishing enthusiasts, families with children, or for those who simply want to experience the mountain's nature and tranquility. Perfect for trout fishing.
The rental price includes the following:
- Boat and nets which you are welcome to use during your stay.
- Fishing license is included.
- Net fishing in Urdevatn and Vesle Meinsvatn.
- Opportunity for rod fishing in several other nearby lakes.
- Taxi boat transports you across Møsvatn round trip to Argehovd Farm, which is located 1 km from Mogen Turisthytte.
- The car is parked at Varland, and one week's parking fee is then paid.
What to bring
The rental cabins are based on self-catering, so bring food, toilet paper, and whatever else you need in terms of consumables during your stay. The beds at Urdevatn have duvets/pillows. Bring a sleeping bag or your own bed linen. Place bed linen over the protective covers that are already there. This is to ensure it is pleasant for everyone to arrive to clean beds.
For stays at Urdevatn, you should also bring a map and compass, matches, and candles.
General information
At the mountain cabins, nets are hanging in the cabin. There are smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in all cabins. In addition, the cabins should be equipped with what you need; just let us know if anything is missing or broken. If you have forgotten something, you can borrow it from us. The cabins are thoroughly cleaned before each season. They must be clean when you arrive and clean when you depart. This ensures a pleasant start to the stay for everyone. Urdevatn is rented out on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday.
